When can I visit the Recruitment Centre?▾
Our Recruitment Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. You'll find us above our shop at 173 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 5NA.
Please note, the Recruitment Centre will be closed until 1.30pm on the 31st January and all day on the 2nd February. We're sorry if this causes any inconvenience and we do hope you can pop in to see us another time.
What documentation do I need to provide, right to work?▾
There are a number of documents, the most common are a passport with visa if required or an ID card. If you are not sure what to bring, we can go through this with you when we invite you to interview.
What will I be paid?▾
We pay as much as we can afford rather than as little as we can get away with, which is why our rates of pay are above the national living wage.
For all levels from Team Member to Leader (i.e. hourly paid), you are entitled to receive the Mystery Shopper Bonus once you’ve completed basic training (which is around 12 weeks for a TM and around 6 weeks for a Barista or Leader).
Pay is dependent on your job role and which area you work in, the pay outlined below is basic pay and doesn’t include bonuses:
Team Member: £7.65 - £8.05 dependent on area
Team Member Star Specialist: £7.95 - £8.55 dependent on area
Key Role (such as Barista): £8.35 - £9.05 dependent on area
Leader: £9.05 - £9.95 dependent on area
Assistant Manager: up to £29,500
General Manager: up to £40,750
Group Manager: up to £46,500
Ops Manager: up to £62,750

We provide weekly pay, paid breaks, and each job role has the same starting rate regardless of age. There’s also a chance to increase your pay with our Mystery Shopper Bonus.
Our teams work hard to make Pret’s amazing food and we want you to be able to enjoy it! Each working day you receive a daily free food allowance, including breakfast if you work this shift. When you are not at work, our Gold Card entitles you to 50% discount on any Pret products for yourself, friends and family, up to the value of £15 after discount (per day).
Working at Pret means you will spend a lot of time on your feet. After you’ve completed your trial period we will supply you with a pair of comfortable, anti-slip shoes, for free, every year.
Working at Pret is hard work which is why we offer plenty of events to give our team a chance to unwind and have fun! This includes legendary parties twice a year, regular Friday Night Drinks and every Pret shop has a budget to spend on team outings or events.
Do I have to have had experience?▾
For a Team Member role, not at all! You will receive detailed training in regards to all aspects of your job role.
What are my shift patterns likely to be?▾
Depending on the shop location we have a range of shifts, from 5am early-starts to midnight finishers. We even have night shifts in some of our shops. We also have a variety of full time and part time shifts – just let us know your availability when applying.
How long after applying should I expect to wait before hearing something?▾
You should hear back from us within a week, if you don’t, please let us know
If I’m successful, what happens next?▾
You will be invited to an initial interview or assessment day, if this is successful, you will then be invited to a Shop Interview. You will spend 3 hours in one of our shops where you will experience life in the role and find out more about what it involves.
If I’m unsuccessful, what happens next?▾
If you are unsuccessful we will let you know. You are welcome to apply again after 6 months.
How old do I have to be to work at Pret?▾
16 is the minimum age. We don’t have a maximum age!
