Growing your child's skills, confidence and career

The Pret Apprenticeship provides young people with the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally whilst being part of ‘Team Pret’. It allows your child to earn a good wage while they build the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to progress within the hospitality industry and become one of our future leaders.

At Pret our values and behaviours are very important, so we recruit based on your child’s qualities, not their qualifications. We look for apprentices who can demonstrate passion, clear communication, team work and great execution.

“Ellie was initially quite reluctant about an apprenticeship - schools, colleges and society made it feel like second best.”

Andrea (Ellie's Mum)

A parent's perspective...

Initially Ellie was so focused on university and that was it. It was only on results day, when she realised she wasn’t going to Uni, that she started looking at alternatives. Ellie was initially quite reluctant about an apprenticeship - schools, colleges and society made it feel like second best.

Personally, I can’t think of a better company; it’s been absolutely tremendous for Ellie. Andrew, her manager and the whole team, have been so supportive and it’s meant that she’s got the most out of it. Ellie gets paid well, is learning lifelong skills and getting training on the job – it’s a win-win situation. I feel so positive, and I’d recommend it to everyone.

Our apprentices learn:
  • Communication & listening skills
  • Great customer service
  • How a business works
  • Managing finances, targets & reports
  • Working with technology
  • Food preparation
  • How to lead a team

“I want to travel, open new shops all over the world and work my way up.” - Ellie
